I joined the Construction Industry in 2019 working for one of the largest residential developers within the country. Starting as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, I enrolled onto their degree programme which partnered with Sheffield Hallam University and allowed me to achieve a 1st Class Honours Degree in Quantity Surveyor & Residential Development.
During my time within the industry, I have been fortunate enough to have had significant exposure to various aspects of Quantity Surveyor which include but are not limited to: preparation of tender documents, competitive tendering, value engineering, subcontractor account management, valuing change, contract administration, CVR reporting, client management and final account negotiations.
With my strong background in construction management procurement and subcontractor account management, I believe I have the construction knowledge to help drive value for our clients through extensive value engineering exercises.
As a Quantity Surveyor, my role is broken down into two segments, pre- and post-contract. During pre-contract, it is my responsibility to understand the requirements of our clients, ensure these requirements are captured by our consultants whilst engaging with various supply chains to achieve best value for money. I will also advise our clients on various procurement routes allowing them to make a fully considered decision on how to proceed.
Once our clients are in contract, my role is to administer the relevant agreed contract ensuring our clients interests are protected at all times. In addition to this, I will complete monthly valuations assessing progress on site, value any change requests from either contractor or client and present a detailed financial update.
Circle is a dynamic business which has organically grown over the last few years. What excites me is the fact that the business has the appetite to continue to grow and invest in its people allowing them to also grow at the same time within their own personal careers. The structured programme for APC Qualification and continued encouragement around CPD reinforces my optimism about the future of Circle.
I’m a huge sports fan therefore when I’m not working, I’m usually either watching or playing football. Failing that, I tend to spend a lot of time socialising with friends or visiting family in Sheffield.

What expertise and background do you bring to the table?
I started my career working on site with various trades, primarily of an MEP background before deciding to become a Quantity Surveyor. Since then, I’ve completed a degree apprenticeship at the University of Greenwich and become a member of the RICS. I’ve worked predominantly on new-build residential, co-living and PBSA projects but have also worked in various other sectors such as education, hotels and leisure, often in listed buildings within central London. Having managed projects through feasibility, procurement, completion and disputes, I have a keen eye for detail and enjoy adding value to projects early on.
Can you outline the responsibilities of your role?
Pre contract, I’m responsible for overseeing the formation of the clients cost plan, as well as management and reporting of any movements, risks and opportunities. Through procurement, I advise on tendering and procurement strategies that align with the clients’ key drivers, market sentiment, and contractor appetite. Post contract, I oversee monthly valuations, EA reports and Cost reports, ensuring clients are up aware of the financial status of the project and briefed on any potential risks or key decisions required.
In addition to keeping an eye on the detail, I believe that the key to successful project delivery is understanding the clients’ aspirations, the projects constraints, the supply chain, and available construction solutions. As such I maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, design consultants, suppliers, sub-contractors and main contractors from project inception to completion.
Describe your experiences and growth at Circle?
Since joining Circle in 2024, I’ve had the opportunity to build on existing experience from both delivery and project oversight perspectives. I’ve been introduced to a variety of new clients, with projects including, BTR, Co-living, PBSA, Heritage, Education and more. Circles project review procedures and regular CPD’s provide great forums to discuss project successes, lessons learnt, and key deliverables, ensuring every project is better than the last and that knowledge is always shared.
What has been your favourite project?
My favourite project so far has been Shore Station, Edinburgh. The project is a mixed-use development consisting of 604 student beds, 18 homes, commercial space and amenity across seven blocks. The site is a conservation area with some listed blocks retained for the development which will require specialist conservation works and provide a range of experience
What brings you joy outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m usually watching the football, spending time with the family or catching up with friends at the pub. I enjoy fitness and training so try to get to the gym as often as I can. When the English weather permits, I can be found making holes in a golf course while trying to perfect my swing! I also love getting away to see new places, from cities breaks to beach holidays, I’m always looking for another place to add to the list.

After completing my studies in Civil Engineering, I embarked on my career in the construction industry. I started by taking on various delivery roles with a Tier 1 Contractor, where I gained valuable experience across a range of sectors including Build-to-Rent and Prime Residential, Leisure, and Defence. During my time with the contractor, I had the opportunity to work as a Structural Design Engineer and even had the chance to work on projects in the Middle East, broadening my experience further.
The diverse projects I’ve been involved in have given me a well-rounded expertise in various aspects of built environment projects, including the technical, commercial, and delivery aspects.
In my role, I have the responsibility of overseeing several key departments within our company, including Project Management, Clerk of Works, and Quality Management. I actively participate in project oversight, offering support to our project teams to ensure that our projects are successful. This often involves attending design meetings and conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and quality.
I play a crucial role in the strategic planning of our projects and our efforts in securing new projects, ensuring our company continues to thrive in the industry.
I initially joined Circle during the company’s early days as a Project Manager. Over time, I worked towards becoming a Chartered Engineer and have since progressed to the position of Director. Throughout my time at the company, I’ve had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects. These include residential schemes like Taberner House and Abbey Place, as well as commercial office fit-outs and the restoration of Listed Buildings.
I have enjoyed the experience of working on the Mountbatten House office refurbishment project, due to its unique construction and the sheer scale of the site. Working on listed buildings like Mountbatten House can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. There’s a sense of gratification that comes from being involved in a project from its initial conception all the way through to its successful completion.
As a proud Welshman, it will come as no surprise that I am an avid rugby fan. While my playing days are behind me, my involvement with the sport is now limited to watching from the comfort of the sofa or chasing my son around at Rugby Tots. The rest of my free time is usually spent renovating houses and getting involved in anything construction-related projects. It’s a passion that extends beyond my work and keeps me busy and engaged outside of the office.

Construction is inevitably unpredictable, I closely work with everyone around me to advise clients on various obstacles and opportunities from feasibility through to completion, ensuring our clients vision are realised.
What expertise and background do you bring to the table?
I started my career as a Placement student, joining Circle during my third year at Loughborough University. Predominantly relying on academic education, I utilised the gradual exposure from being involved within post-contract residential schemes to gain a greater insight into the role itself. The main sectors I have worked on during my career is residential and commercial.
Can you outline the responsibilities of your role?
My role consists of the entire construction process, from providing clients with costing expertise in the design stages right through to managing both the financial and contractual sides of a post-contract project. I aid within the quantification process of cost plans, allowing for key insights into the estimated price of a specific project, ensuring that the client’s budget expectations are both visualised and maximised. Whilst consistently having efficient communication with the client and contracting teams, I can support my colleagues in costing exercises and decision-making processes. Also, as construction is inevitably unpredictable, I closely work with everyone around me to advise clients on various obstacles and opportunities, allowing for a fluent process of dialogue.
Describe your experiences and growth at Circle?
I commenced my career with Circle as a Placement student from Loughborough University. I have since graduated with a First-Class Honours Degree and have committed to joining the Circle APC Chartership Program. With the consistent support from experienced colleagues, I aim to have achieved my RICS accreditation within 18 months after university. Despite only having a short career thus far, I have aided in progressing multiple projects such as Latitude Purple and Wembley Link, whilst also being heavily involved in a multitude of cost plans.
What has been your favourite project?
My favourite project was Wembley Link, which perfectly balanced a challenging yet insightful workload, enabling me to kick start my career whilst dramatically proving that learning construction in a lecture hall is nothing compared to being on-site in person. The 256-unit scheme located in Wembley Central placed me in the deep end of a construction project, exponentially accelerating my learning curve.
What brings you joy outside of work?
Despite being the completely wrong height for any sport, being the 3rd smallest person in the office, I love to take part in most types of sports including football and running. I also have a passion in attending sports events, in hopes of witnessing Tottenham Hotspur win a trophy before I retire in 40 years’ time. Having recently moved to London, I have taken the opportunity to learning new cooking recipes by eating at various restaurants around the city and attempting to copy them. This plays perfectly in my current favourite hobby, spending time on the weekends visiting new pubs with friends and colleagues

This, combined with my academic background, has provided me with a strong foundation in both the technical and commercial aspects of construction projects.
My role involves measuring drawings, preparing cost estimates, and assisting with cost planning exercises at various stages of a project. I also support the team with tender analysis, compiling procurement documents, and updating cost data to help ensure projects remain on budget. Additionally, I contribute to the preparation of reports and maintain clear records to support effective project delivery.
I’m excited to be part of a forward-thinking consultancy like Circle that values innovation, collaboration, and professional development. I’m looking forward to working on a variety of projects, learning from experienced colleagues, and continuing to build my technical and commercial skills. A key ambition of mine is to complete my RICS chartership, and I’m confident that Circle provides the right environment and support to help me achieve that goal.
Outside of work, I enjoy weightlifting and spending time with friends. Since moving to London from Cardiff, it’s also been great fun exploring the city and ticking places off my bucket list. There’s still plenty to see. I haven’t made it to Buckingham Palace yet, but with the office nearby, that one should be easy to cross off soon!

I am a CIOB-accredited project manager with a delivery background, with experience across multiple sectors. I have worked for Tier 1 Contractors and in recent years, Project management, working closely with Clients to achieve their project aspirations.
I have over 10 years of experience working in the construction industry across multiple sectors. At Circle Development I specialise in residential and commercial projects, delivering high-quality residential buildings and prime commercial spaces across London and in the regions.
My responsibility pre-contract is to drive the programme, lead the design team and understand, manage and minimise project risks and opportunities for Clients. I prioritise client satisfaction by fostering clear communication, managing expectations, and delivering projects that align with the client’s vision and goals. Client feedback and repeat business are testaments to my client-centric approach.
I have experience in developing project execution plans and monitoring the construction phase plans as the works progress. I establish the project programme and drive the wider team to hit the key project milestones, such as the preparation and submission of planning documentation. Post-contract award, I have a depth of experience administering the contract to make sure the ERs are delivered on time and within budget and to the correct quality.
I started professional life in the Construction industry working onsite as a trainee engineer, working my way up to a senior construction manager before switching to the client side with Circle in 2020.
This change of direction presented an opportunity to broaden my knowledge of the construction industry. I joined Circle as an Assistant Project Manager in 2020 and have progressed to a Senior Project Manager, during my time with Circle I have Project Managed projects such as Abbey Place, Talgarth Road PBSA and Canons House and have taken a lead role in the development of the Clerk of Works business.

What is your favourite project?
My favourite project was Snow Hill, where I served as the lead QS from feasibility to a successful planning application in Q2 2023. The 48-storey BTR scheme in the centre of Birmingham brought complexities that I managed by working closely with a team of leading UK design consultants. I kept the client well-informed about the estimated project cost and advised the client on key value engineering opportunities. This landmark project expanded my expertise and experience in construction technology and buildability, involving the use of a bespoke unitised façade due to height restrictions.

Having originally graduated with an Economics and Finance Degree, I bring a strong analytical background. I joined the construction industry on a graduate scheme at a property developer, where I worked my way up through the ranks from graduate to Quantity Surveyor, whilst also completing my Master’s in Quantity Surveying and gaining my RICS accreditation.
I have gained valuable experience working on site on a mixture of high-end residential projects, shared ownership and fire remedial works, as well as delivering a luxury senior living scheme with all the resident’s facilities you can think of! I am detail-oriented and have developed my knowledge through managing various trade packages from temporary works to internal fit outs. I have been involved in both pre- and post-contract duties, particularly enjoying the pre-contract element, as I see it as an opportunity to set a project up for success.
Pre-contract, I am responsible for preparing cost plans and tracking cost movements as the design progresses, as well as highlighting risks and identifying opportunities to ensure clients are always fully informed throughout the process. As a project moves into the tendering and procurement phase, I advise on appropriate strategies to suit the client and achieve the best overall value.
Post-contract, I administer the contract and monitor costs against the budget. This includes carrying out monthly valuations, agreeing changes to the contract, tracking progress and reporting to clients.
I was initially attracted to Circle due to the variety of projects and the strong focus on carbon. It was clear from the start that everyone in the team is passionate about getting stuck into the detail and ensuring projects are delivered successfully. Furthermore, the importance placed on professional development is second to none, with frequent management catch ups, CPD sessions and goal setting. The annual ski trip was also a big selling point!
The term “simplifying complexity” resonates with me, as more often than not, the construction industry overcomplicates issues that can be resolved by stripping them back to basics and identifying a straightforward solution.
It is an exciting time to join Circle, given the rapid growth and strong pipeline of projects. I am looking forward to getting involved in a variety of schemes and further developing my knowledge. Circle’s Lifecycle Carbon Assessments are of particular interest to me; having written my Master’s dissertation on sustainability in procurement, I am keen to understand how I can positively influence carbon usage on projects. Additionally, the focus on carbon at Circle reflects the company’s commitment to leaving a lasting positive impact on construction projects and enabling clients to make fully informed decisions when considering the whole lifecycle of a scheme.
I spend most of my time outside of work in the gym or running, whether that be training for a CrossFit competition, Hyrox race or half marathon. In the future, I would love to do a marathon, Ironman and some CrossFit competitions abroad. I also enjoy cooking and eating out with friends– my Google Maps is covered in pins for restaurants I want to try!

I have joined Circle as part of my placement year during studies at Loughborough University, it is a very useful knowledge building exercise to be able to put into practice and apply everything learnt at university and utilise that in a professional real-life setting. Previously, to Circle I engaged with 2 weeks work experience at GMI Construction PLC, in which I was stationed on-site in Leeds City Centre constructing a high-end student accommodation complex that was nearing the completion stage of the RC frame. Through these few weeks I understood the mechanics of site operation and how a project goes from the early stages of tender through to a physical product for the Client.
As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor my role includes both pre and post contract administration, the responsibilities mainly involve assisting the current Quantity Surveyor and Project Management team on various sites across Circle’s portfolio and ensuring that all necessary contractual documents that make up the running of a project are finished, reviewed and issued with the highest of quality and detail once presented to the Client or Contractor, at Circle the relationships between Client’s and Contractors are a fundamental part of the operations of our job. Some of the items I input into include Valuations, Cost reports, Cashflows and Employer’s Agents Reports to name a few, these all run on a monthly basis and require updates with information from current and previous periods.
I also input into Life-cycle Carbon Assessments, with the world of Carbon in Construction evolving and growing in significance due to Carbon emission concerns I look to involve myself greatly in these assessments.
I started my career at Circle in September 2024 as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, and I’m currently assisting senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to deliver high quality Build to Rent schemes such as Water Lane, a Build to Rent scheme consisting of 375 new apartments in a 14-storey development block, by McLaren Living. Alongside, I am working on co-living environments such as Shore Station in Edinburgh, a student housing scheme consisting of 632 student bed spaces. Since joining Circle I have expanded my knowledge in the contractual side of construction due to the exposure of different types of projects that Circle are involved in. I am currently placing the first steps towards my RICS qualification in a few years’ time with assistance from Circle’s APC Programme to add further credentials to my name in the Surveying profession.
Outside of work I am a keen rugby player and enjoy playing for the National 1 side Esher, FYI, this is when I’m not injured. Rugby and keeping fit takes up the majority of my free time outside of work, in which I thoroughly enjoy the camaraderie between teammates and feeling that a workout or run can give you. Since moving down to London I have generated a particular interest in the history behind the city as it is a completely new experience for me, and when I’m not busy on a rugby field I will spend my time exploring the city and visiting places of interest with friends and family. I am also an avid skier in which I seek to venture to the alps a few times a year, this has been a passion of mine since the early years of childhood and I’m particularly looking forward to the annual Circle ski trip to spend some quality time on the slopes with my colleagues.

I am taking my first steps into the world of Quantity surveying with an apprenticeship with Circle. With my background mainly being academic, I have been on work experience with McLaren and ISG where I was on site getting a basic understanding of the distinct roles and responsibilities. I will be working towards a degree as part of the apprenticeship scheme and am set to graduate in 2028. Following that, I will be working towards my APC in 2029.
As a trainee Apprenticeship Quantity Surveyor my role consists of both pre- and post-commercial work, gaining an understanding of the software, and familiarising myself with cost exercises, measurement tasks and site visits. With this I can then aid the Quantity Surveying team in key projects to further my understanding of the company and role. When enrolling into university in September I will be dedicating one day per week to attend during term time. This unique opportunity provides me with in-depth knowledge through key projects.
I am excited for the opportunity and ready to get stuck in. I am looking forward to the future with enrolling into university in September and with the early start I can progress my skills which will give me knowledge to bring to the degree.
I am a big football fan, by going to attend games when possible to playing every week in a 5 a side team, gaining valuable skills like communication and team work to use during the week. I like to keep a fit and healthy lifestyle by going to the gym and doing a regular 5k run on the weekends. Another interest of mine is travelling with my latest visit being to Barcelona, where I got to see the amazing La Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell.

I originally started my career as an apprentice site Quantity Surveyor with Tier 1 main contractor Laing O’Rourke, all while pursuing a Quantity Surveying degree. During this time, I gained hands-on experience delivering large, complex projects in aerospace, residential, large-scale commercial regenerations, and healthcare.
I shifted my focus to client-side project delivery, specialising in tendering, procurement, and contract administration. I was at the forefront of the UK build-to-rent sector, overseeing the delivery of one of the first institutionally funded schemes in North Acton.
In 2018, I founded Circle with a clear mission: to simplify the project delivery offering available to clients. I aimed to remove multifaceted teams and instill a detail-focused mindset across all team members. My focus is on continuous improvement and staying ahead of industry advancements, such as the Building Safety Act, while also investing in Circle’s development and positioning in the Carbon Management sector. I proudly received fellowship from RICS in 2022.
As the Managing Director, my role includes overseeing all Circle functions, managing people, business planning, conducting project reviews, and engaging with the supply chain. I also enjoy actively managing projects at key stages, including initial feasibility and procurement, alongside the expert teams within Circle. I take an active role in Life Cycle Carbon Assessments and Life Cycle Costing studies, as I have a deep passion for this emerging sector. My goal is to empower clients with the knowledge they need to make the right decisions for the future.

What is your favourite project?
I don’t have a clear favourite project, but I have recently enjoyed the conversion and repurposing of the Beech Street project in the City of London. I presented Circle’s work to the planning officers, highlighting the analysis, benefits, and comparison of design options. The One Maidenhead BtR project is where I call home, and as a result, I have experienced firsthand the positive impact that this large-scale regeneration can have on town centres. The brickwork looks great from the station platform each morning!
At home, my main hobby is keeping up with two babies and a cockapoo! I have a keen interest in motorsports, having spent over ten years racing superbikes at club level around the UK circuits, starting in the junior 125cc classes and progressing to 600cc before transitioning to off-road trials riding. More recently, I’ve traded big engines and high speeds for the occasional half marathon and coastal walks with my family and fluffy dog.

I began my career in construction with a Tier One main contractor, starting as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. During this period, I also completed a part-time degree in Quantity Surveying at Birmingham City University. Upon graduating, I joined another contractor, where I was given the opportunity to manage my own project.
Before joining Circle, I progressed to the position of Quantity Surveyor and acted as the lead QS on projects. My responsibilities included procurement, contract administration, valuations, assessing and valuing change, forecasting and CVR reporting, creation and monitoring of cash flow forecasts, final account negotiations, and the assessment and compilation of claims.
I believe my background provides me with a strong advantage in fairly and reasonably assessing change and in administering the JCT Design and Build Contract.
As a Quantity Surveyor, my pre-contract role includes the preparation of feasibility studies and cost plans, tracking cost movements as the design develops, identifying risks and opportunities, and striving to ensure the client receives the best possible value for money while also achieving their project aspirations.
Post-contract, my responsibilities involve administering the JCT contract, valuing works, reporting to clients, offering advice on key decisions, and ensuring they have all the necessary information to make informed choices throughout the project.
I started at Circle in May 2025, and my experience so far has been extremely positive. The team are highly knowledgeable, insightful, and supportive. I have had the opportunity to expand and strengthen my expertise through involvement in large co-living and residential schemes. I am looking forward to continuing my professional development with the company as I take on greater responsibilities and contribute to increasingly complex and high-profile projects.
My favourite project to date has been Baltic Street. It has been particularly rewarding to work on a large-scale development in Edinburgh, Scotland. The scheme is a substantial mixed-use project that incorporates and retains listed features, contributing to the preservation of the area’s historical character. It is a complex undertaking, but one that will undoubtedly provide significant benefits to the local community. I am confident it will be a project that all stakeholders can take great pride in upon completion.
In my spare time, I enjoy both watching and participating in a range of sports, including football, padel, and golf. I have recently taken up boxing and train regularly at my local gym. I enjoy the focus, resilience, and discipline of the sport. Outside of training and competing, I have a passion for music and enjoy visiting record shops to add to my growing collection of vinyl records.

My professional journey began with a placement at Circle, where I contributed to the delivery of residential and commercial developments across the UK. My work now spans a diverse range of schemes, including sustainable redevelopments, Grade II listed retrofits, timber-framed office buildings, and large-scale residential new builds.
As a Cost and Carbon Consultant, I specialise in early-stage quantification, costing, carbon management, and the implementation of risk and cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle. My expertise is reflected in the delivery of project feasibility analyses, life-cycle assessments, interim payment certifications, and detailed cost reporting to clients.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, I play a multifaceted role that spans both the pre- and post-contract stages of a project. I work closely with the senior QS team, contributing to a variety of tasks while also taking independent responsibility where appropriate. My role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of both commercial and technical project aspects.
My responsibilities pre-contract include supporting the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires, tender documents, and feasibility studies, as well as carrying out cost exercises in response to design changes. I also assist in the preparation of life cycle assessments for planning submissions and BREEAM accreditation. On the post-contract side, I help with interim valuations and produce cost and cash flow reports for clients. I am actively involved in change control processes, including tracking and documenting variations to the contract ensuring cost implications are clearly communicated and well managed throughout the project.
My journey at Circle began during my placement year, when I had limited industry experience and was just starting to understand how the principles I had studied applied in practice. That year proved invaluable, providing me with real-world context to take into my final year of university making the academic content far more relatable.
After graduating I returned to Circle and transitioned from a trainee to an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. With that step came increased responsibility and ownership of tasks, while still being supported and guided by a knowledgeable team. I’ve since developed both my technical and professional capabilities across a range of projects, becoming more confident in handling day-to-day QS duties and client interactions.
I’m now preparing to embark on the APC Quantity Surveying pathway toward chartership. I see this next stage as a natural progression of the growth I’ve experienced so far, and I’m committed to continuing to build on the strong foundation Circle has helped me establish.
I really enjoyed the Wembley Link project, a prominent build-to-rent development, from the moment I joined the company. My involvement in this venture, which encompasses 245 apartments, was a rewarding journey filled with numerous challenges that provided valuable learning opportunities for myself. Additionally, the stunning stadium view makes this residential building truly stand out as a premium landmark in the area.
Since re-joining the company, I have been deeply engaged with the Water Lane scheme, a significant build-to-rent development in Leeds focused on delivering a high-quality residential experience. My involvement in this project, which will deliver 375 new homes on a former car park site, has been both rewarding and challenging. It has provided valuable opportunities to enhance my skills in ongoing contract management and client engagement. I particularly value this role as it has allowed me to take ownership of complex tasks, deepen my understanding of the construction process, and grow professionally within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Outside of my professional commitments, I have a strong dedication to music and sports. I perform as a disc jockey with my own collective, organising events throughout the UK, which allows me to engage creatively and foster cultural experiences. Additionally, I am an enthusiastic participant of ultimate frisbee, a sport I both played and coached at university, which I now plan to continue within London scene.

After graduating from Heriot Watt University with a degree in Quantity Surveying, I began work for a global consultancy. During my time there, I worked on high value private and public schemes, consisting of new build residential, commercial and public buildings. Since joining Circle I have been working on both new build residential and repurpose for residential.
My role involves assisting the team through all stages of construction. This involves cost estimation and planning, preparation of tender documents, valuations and financial reporting. Generally, supporting the team to ensure effective delivery of a project is achieved, and stakeholders’ needs are met, if not exceeded.
I started at Circle mid June this year and have already learnt a lot. Circle’s carbon management really interests me, and after assisting in an exercise for a scheme, it is something I am keen to get to grips with and develop as a skill. Alongside this, I am aiming to become a chartered member of the RICS within the year.
I was attracted to Circle as it’s a forward-thinking, well organised and friendly place to be, offering great support and career progression too. Ive enjoyed Circle’s culture so far, everyone works hard but has a laugh whilst doing so. Its been really refreshing to experience such good collaboration and dynamism, which I think is what sets it apart from others.
Although it hasn’t been too long since I joined, my favourite project is Hardess Yard, a co-living residential scheme in Brixton, London. Having not been fully involved in a project this early on before, I’m looking forward to seeing the project come together and how our actions as QS’s contribute to shaping the outcome. Coincidentally, I am quite familiar with the site location, it’ll be interesting to see how construction is managed with the site constraints and how the building sits within the area too.
What brings you joy outside of work?
Outside of work you can find me doing a bit of anything and everything. From bouldering to baking, pub quizzes to pottery painting, I’m quite happy (after 3 years) to still be in my ‘tourist in London’ era, with a variety of not-quite-hobbies. More consistently, I enjoy sports and gyming, going to music events, and value engineering holidays.

I began my career in 2014 delivering fit out projects for a food retail client, while simultaneously completing an MSc in Quantity Surveying. This early experience provided the opportunity to deliver multiple projects within a short timeframe, allowing me to develop strong technical and commercial skills at the outset of my career. Since then, I have worked across a broad range of sectors, including office fit out, new build residential, private residential and public realm schemes throughout London and the South East of England. I am a member of the RICS and have successfully managed projects through all stages, from feasibility and procurement to post-contract delivery and completion.
I enjoy collaborating closely with project teams to identify the best solutions for our clients, delivering projects that balance cost certainty with the successful realisation of the client’s design intent.
Pre-contract, I am responsible for preparing cost estimates and managing, monitoring and reporting on cost movements, risks and opportunities to the client. This enables the client to make informed financial decisions as the design develops and ensures the design remains aligned with the client’s target budget for the works. During procurement, I advise on tendering and procurement strategies to agree an appropriate and effective route to contract. Post-contract, I undertake monthly valuations and cost reporting, providing clients with clear and accurate visibility of the project’s financial position as works progress on site.
Since joining Circle in November 2025, I have been inspired by Circle’s ethos and ambition to realise clients’ visions. I look forward to continuing my professional development within a company whose values so closely align with my own.
Outside of work, I can normally be found on a padel court. Over the last year it has become a big part of my health and fitness regime as well as my social life. I really enjoy that you can be so focused on the game that you almost forget you are exercising! I also enjoy travelling and exploring new places and cultures whenever the excuse for a weekend away arises.

I began my career working for a Main Contractor on site as a QS in Purpose Built Student Accommodation, managing subcontractors on a daily basis. I then joined Circle in 2020 to move to client side, taking a focus in carrying out the Employer’s Agent / Contract Administration role and Cost Consultancy within the residential, education and heritage sectors. Recently, I have taken an interest in the way that carbon can be reduced and mitigated by way of carbon management within the built environment, providing advise to clients on how to build greener for their developments.
I have a blend of both pre and post contract projects at Circle. The day to day role on the pre-contract project includes carrying out tendering and procurement with main contractors, cost exercises and keeping open dialogue with our supply chain to keep control of any materials cost variations. On post-contract projects, I undertake roles such the Employer’s Agent / Contract Administrator on behalf of clients, ensuring the contract is being adhered to by all parties party to it. I oversee the commercial aspects of projects and advise our clients on the best ways to proceed and overcome any obstacles that naturally arise on developments.
I started Circle as a Graduate QS and has since then progressed to a Quantity Surveyor, I enjoy the daily challenges which are presented to him whilst working at Circle. The Circle team are close knit, which means that opportunity to experience an array of different experience is given, along with the responsibility of making decisions and face to face exposure with clients from early within my career.
My favourite project has been Wembley Link which is a 256 home BtR scheme, I was present for the first pile being installed and will be present when the last tree is planted within the extensive external works, this was also my first project at Circle so it will also be remembered. The opportunity to learn, with the senior team at Circle overseeing the project, but allowing me to take the lead in decision making and advising my client was invaluable to my learning, whilst also ensuring our clients had the best quality service.
I am an avid sports fan, primarily Rugby and Cricket who can often been found on a Saturday at Old Deer Park watching London Welsh play rugby. I am also a keen cyclist which is often how Saturday mornings are spent in and around London with friends. When I am not in London I am often back in Pembrokeshire (where I grew up) on my parents farm, usually causing more hinderance then help.
I enjoy socialising in the evening and on weekends around London making the most of the great pubs and many of restaurants that London has to offer.

I began my career as an estimator for a regional main contractor in Derbyshire while pursuing my Master’s in Quantity Surveying. Upon completing my course, I relocated to London and joined a Tier 1 Main contractor, focusing on residential, commercial, and healthcare sectors. My background allows me to provide pre and post-contract commercial services to clients, with on-the-ground knowledge from my contracting days. With Circle, I’ve now work on new build residential, co-living, and office projects in the capacity of an Associate Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent.
As an Associate Quantity Surveyor, I combine strong technical and interpersonal skills to deliver commercial services to my clients. My role is diverse, encompassing both pre- and post-contract duties. I lead teams of Project Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Surveyors to deliver large-scale projects for our clients.
Pre-contract, we prepare cost estimates, monitor design development, manage procurement, and negotiate build contracts. Cost estimates are produced from feasibility stage through to RIBA Stage 4 design. Post-contract, we manage our clients’ commercial interests and administer contracts on live projects, acting as the Employer’s Agent. This includes monitoring variations, negotiating costs, tracking on-site progress, and carrying out monthly valuations.
I also act as a line manager to four members of the commercial team, overseeing workloads and monitoring performance against agreed targets. This includes tracking and reviewing their progress through the APC pathway to chartership.
I joined Circle in September 2023 as a Quantity Surveyor. From day one, the company entrusted me with significant responsibility, beginning with a negotiated tender for a c.£50m co-living scheme in White City within my first week. Since then, my career has gone from strength to strength, achieving chartership and progressing from Senior Quantity Surveyor to my current role as an Associate.
Having established strong teams across large-scale residential and commercial projects, I now lead a new Single Family Homes department, where we act as Fund Monitor on several schemes. Circle has been an excellent business to work for, providing consistent support for my professional development, creating opportunities to take on new challenges, and offering guidance through major milestones such as the RICS APC process.
My favourite project is Wood Lane, which was my first scheme with Circle. The £49m development involves the construction of a 16-storey tower with two six-storey wings. The tower will accommodate 209 co-living units, with the ground floor, Level 7, and Level 16 providing communal amenity spaces for residents, including MasterChef-style kitchens, a gym, workspaces, and lounges.
The six-storey wings are being delivered for a women’s charity and will include 60 apartments for the charity’s patrons, along with a new office for the organisation. The project includes technically complex groundworks due to existing site levels, as well as the added challenges of working adjacent to the London Underground Central Line and a busy TfL highway. It is exciting to see the project coming to fruition, with Practical Completion anticipated in Q4 2026.
Outside of work, I stay active by going to the gym a few times a week and occasionally returning to Derbyshire for long walks in the Peak District. I make the most of my annual leave by travelling, most recently visiting old university friends in Jordan and experiencing one of the Seven Wonders of the World. In winter, I am an avid skier, having completed a season when I was younger. I am also settling into more leisurely and less extreme sports, enjoying the occasional round of golf when time allows, but only when the sun is shining.

Having started my career working for a Tier 1 main contractor working within the education, retail and rail sectors, I offer a range of experience from various sectors within the industry and specialise in the tendering and procurement of forward-funded construction projects. I work closely with clients to ensure the delivery of their vision is realised. I have significant experience in setting and managing project budgets, starting from acquisition through to project completion. Additionally, I possess an astute understanding of contract administration, with several years of experience in carrying out the Employer’s Agent/Contract Administrator role across multiple projects.
In my role at Circle, I have a hands-on approach to managing the commercial team. I ensure that the team maintains high standards at all levels of the business. On a day-to-day basis, I am actively involved in the delivery of projects, with a constant focus on ensuring that the clients’ key KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are at the forefront of the project team’s priorities. Additionally, I manage our key supply chain members and maintain critical relationships to facilitate project delivery and keep the Circle team ahead of industry advancements.
I have been a part of the Circle journey since the very beginning, contributing to multiple sectors and focusing on delivering commercial services from pre-acquisition all the way through to project completion. My background as a Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent, managing complex forward-funded developments, has positioned me to take a leading role in Circle’s commercial team.
I’m a keen sportsman, spending my weekends trail running and getting out to enjoy the weekends either on two feet, or two wheels alike. I also love exploring the UK and Europe whenever I get the chance on camping trips, usually not too far away from my Wirehaired Vizsla! Skiing is also among my other hobbies, making Circles annual trip a personal highlight of the year!

Having spent the past four years at Circle Development, I have developed broad experience across a range of residential and commercial projects while working alongside some of the industry’s most experienced professionals. My work has included Build-to-Rent and Co-Living schemes, covering both HRB and non-HRB developments across pre- and post-contract stages, as well as involvement in large commercial projects. I have also supported fund monitoring roles for major institutional funders on large masterplan schemes. In what has been a challenging market, I have been involved in the successful procurement and delivery of several projects, working with both Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors and gaining experience in the evolving requirements of the Building Safety Act. Prior to moving into the industry, I spent 13 years as a professional rugby player before completing a degree in Business, a Master’s in Real Estate and qualifying as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the RICS.
My role involves a blend of Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent, Project Management and Fund Monitoring responsibilities across both the pre- and post-contract stages of projects. Day-to-day, I am involved in feasibility studies, preparing pre-tender cost plans and managing the tender process for the procurement of large projects, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors to ensure the process is structured, competitive and runs smoothly. I also collaborate with the design team to ensure the project aligns with the client’s requirements and assist with contract negotiations where required.
Post-contract, my responsibilities include undertaking monthly site valuations, preparing cost reports and cashflow forecasts, and administering variations. I work collaboratively with both the client and contractor to ensure changes are assessed and priced fairly and reasonably in line with market conditions. I also prepare monthly Employer’s Agent reports and undertake fund monitoring duties for institutional funders, providing oversight on cost, programme and development risk. A key part of my role is supporting the team in driving projects through to practical completion in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements. More recently, I have also developed experience in Life Cycle Carbon Assessments, helping clients understand and reduce the carbon impact of their developments.
During my time at Circle Development, I have gained experience working across a range of large and complex projects which has helped develop my understanding of the full development lifecycle. I have been involved in the procurement and delivery of a major Build-to-Rent residential scheme, supporting both the pre-contract tender process and post-contract Quantity Surveying role. I have also contributed to the early stages of large commercial office developments and central London co-living schemes, building experience in cost planning, procurement and working with multidisciplinary design teams.
Alongside this, my involvement in fund monitoring on a major masterplan development has strengthened my understanding of the relationship between funders and developers, and the importance of clear reporting and collaboration. Working on these projects with experienced colleagues and a range of clients has been a key part of my professional development at Circle.
The high standards across the business and the openness of colleagues to share their knowledge and support my studies created a great environment for me to develop my skills and genuinely enjoy the learning process. Enrolling in the Circle APC Chartership Programme gave me the structure and guidance I needed to progress with confidence, and I’m incredibly proud to now have achieved Chartered Member status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
One of my favourite projects is Water Lane, a Build-to-Rent development in Leeds with McLaren Living, consisting of 375 apartments. I have been involved since the early RIBA stages and have enjoyed working closely with the design team to help ensure a high-quality and efficient building is delivered. As the project now moves further into the delivery stage, it is particularly rewarding to see the design begin to take shape in an area I grew up in.
Another project I have particularly enjoyed being involved in is a large Co-Living development at Elephant Park in central London. The scheme is set to be one of the largest co-living developments delivered in Zone 1 and presents a number of unique challenges given its scale, complexity and the relatively new nature of the co-living sector in the UK. Being involved in the early stages of such a significant project has provided valuable experience in understanding how these emerging residential models are delivered.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and have a strong interest in a range of sports including rugby, cricket, football and golf. Recently, I have taken up padel, which has quickly become a favourite, although finding a court in London can sometimes be a challenge. I also enjoy travelling when I can, with Canada, Brazil and Japan among my favourite places I’ve visited. Living in London also means there’s no shortage of great food, so I enjoy trying different restaurants and exploring the city’s food scene.

I began my career in Construction in November 2021 when I, during lockdown, took on the role of Site Carpenter/Site Foreman, working on several home renovations in the south of England. This experience ignited my passion for property development and a strong desire to work in the sector. Building on this, I combined my Accounting and Finance Bachelor’s Degree with my on-site experience, transitioning to a role as a Quantity Surveyor in both residential and commercial sectors. I also have a keen interest in Carbon Quantification and am working towards my BREEAM accreditation. I firmly believe that carbon optioneering is essential for a successful project and strive to make clients aware of more carbon-friendly construction methods.
I have a keen interest in Carbon Quantification and am working towards my BREEAM accreditation. I firmly believe that carbon optioneering is essential for a successful project and strive to make clients aware of more carbon-friendly construction methods.
As a Quantity Surveyor, my responsibilities span financial, contractual administration, and project coordination, ensuring that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. I have a significant role in Life Cycle Carbon Assessments at Circle, overseeing the production of assessments throughout the company. This role is crucial in mitigating the environmental impact of building projects by considering carbon emissions at all stages, from material extraction to end-of-life. Additionally, I take pride in organising the annual Circle ski trip, managing budgets and delivering on expectations.
I joined Circle in May 2022 as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager. Over time, I have evolved into a more prominent Quantity Surveyor and Employers Agent role. I appreciate the flexibility offered by Circle, allowing me to explore and experience various roles within the company. I have gradually taken on more responsibilities in the two post-contract projects I am involved in and aim to continue my development with the company.
Mountbatten House holds a special place as my favourite project for various reasons. The uniqueness of the building itself, the challenge of renovating an existing frame while reducing its carbon footprint, and the rejuvenation of the fantastic garden terraces are all sources of excitement. I envy those who will have the opportunity to work there upon completion. Nonetheless, I hold great respect for my other projects as well.
I’m always eager to dive into various activities, whether it’s sports, dinners, festivals, or nights out. When I’m not dining out or cooking, you’ll find me cycling for outdoor fun or enjoying a few drinks with friends. I’m enthusiastic about using my holidays to explore new countries and cultures. However, there’s nothing wrong with a cozy night in with a takeaway curry to recharge.

With 12 years of experience across both New Zealand and the UK, I have worked as a quantity surveyor for subcontractors, main contractors, and consultancies. The majority of my experience has been gained in consultancy roles. For the past six years, I have been based in the UK, specialising in super-prime residential and commercial office developments. With substantial pre- and post-contract experience, I have successfully delivered a number of projects, managing them from early-stage planning through to the agreement of the final account.
At Circle, I am responsible for a combination of project delivery, client care, and staff development. As the main point of contact for projects through both pre- and post-contract stages, I ensure our team delivers high-quality work that achieves successful outcomes for both the client and the project team. Client care is a key focus for all senior members of the business, and I take pride in ensuring the client’s objectives and brief are fully understood. We maintain constant communication throughout all stages of the project, ensuring we not only meet but exceed their expectations. Staff development is a vital part of my role, where I provide team members with increasing responsibility on projects to support their growth, offering guidance and direction whenever needed.
I was appointed Associate Director at Circle Development in February 2025. In this role, I will focus on leading projects, managing the development of staff, and ensuring exceptional client care.
My favourite project to date has been Trehus, a commercial office building in Maidenhead offering 56,000 sq ft of office space. The design features a carbon-conscious approach, with a CLT frame supporting a stone façade. A key challenge on the project will be managing the interface between the CLT frame and the stone façade, which will require detailed design workshops to ensure efficiency and meet the client’s expectations. Construction is due to begin within the next two months, and it’s an exciting project to be involved in, with a great team and client.
I love travelling and exploring different cultures, and recently spent four months touring South America with my partner. My favourite destination was Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, where the hiking and scenery were truly amazing. Exercise is also a big part of my life; I make it a point to do something every day before work, whether it’s running or lifting weights at the gym. I also like to set myself a goal each year to train for, and this year, I’m aiming for a big PB in the Valencia Marathon. Golf is another hobby of mine, though sometimes my scores don’t reflect the effort I put in! I’m hoping to improve this year and would love to play at St Andrews Old Course, either this year or next.

Currently undertaking my placement year at Circle Developments as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, I am keen to apply the academic knowledge I have gained through my studies at Nottingham Trent University in a practical setting. My previous experience working on-site has provided me with valuable hands-on insight into both commercial and residential projects, as well as a solid understanding of site logistics and construction processes.
As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, my role involves both pre-contract and post-contract administration. I assist the team with a variety of tasks, including preparing measurements, supporting the preparation of interim payment applications, producing photographic reports from site visits, and compiling meeting minutes and agendas.
I began my placement at Circle in June 2025, and so far my experience has been great! I am eager to learn and contribute as much as possible throughout my placement year. I am particularly interested in getting involved with Whole Lifecycle Carbon Assessments and Lifecycle Costing, as I believe this will enhance my knowledge and support my university studies. I am due to graduate in 2027 and hope to return to Circle to join their APC programme.
What brings you joy outside of work?
Outside of work, I am a keen football player, regularly playing for a Saturday team and participating in six-a-side matches during the week when time allows. Since moving to London, I have also enjoyed going on long runs around the city. I love to travel and try to explore new places with my family and friends as often as possible.

I joined Circle in 2021 after completing my sixth form education. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, both in the pre and post-contract phases. These projects include new build BTR schemes like One Maidenhead, refurbished commercial buildings such as 43 Brook Green or Mountbatten House, and demolition projects like Marlow Demolition, to name a few. I am currently working towards my degree as part of the apprenticeship scheme and am set to graduate in 2025. Following that, I will be working towards my APC in 2026.
My role encompasses a blend of pre and post-commercial work, with a focus on assisting the Quantity Surveyor team in key projects throughout the week. A typical week involves engaging in cost exercises, measurement tasks, conducting interim valuations on-site, and dedicating one day per week to attend university during term time. Recently, I’ve taken on a role supporting Carbon Managers in compiling data for Life Cycle Carbon Assessments and assisting in bringing them together. As an apprentice, I work with the Quantity Surveyor team across all projects to develop a comprehensive skillset in all aspects of the field.
Describe your experiences and growth?
I embarked on my professional journey with no prior experience but have since accumulated a diverse range of experiences across various projects. My time at Circle has exposed me to different situations on different projects, allowing me to collaborate with various consultants. I’m currently an apprentice at Circle as part of the degree apprenticeship scheme, which is equipping me with the necessary skills for the industry. This unique opportunity provides me with both in-depth knowledge through key projects and a broad understanding by involving me in various tasks.

What is your favourite project?
My favourite project is One Maidenhead, a build-to-rent development in Maidenhead comprising 429 apartments. I’ve been involved with this project from its inception, and it’s rewarding to witness the progress of each element as I visit the site for valuations. Since I’m learning on the job, I find this project particularly valuable for my development. I can analyse and learn specific elements of the work, which, when I’m in the office costing a new project, enables me to provide a more accurate cost.
I’m a passionate tennis player, having previously worked as a tennis coach. I enjoy engaging with the sport both as a player and an enthusiast. Running is another interest I’ve taken up, with half or full marathons on the horizon. I’m also a football lover, always keeping up with the weekend fixtures and results.

Describe your experiences and growth?
I started with Circle through the Circle apprentice program following two years at university and a placement year. I graduated from university with a First-Class Honors degree and immediately joined the Circle APC Chartership Program. With close support and guidance from Circle, I successfully obtained my RICS accreditation a year and a half after graduating. Throughout my time at Circle, I played a key role in completing various projects, including a 245-unit BTR scheme in Abbey Place, the refurbishment of Westminster School Cricket Pavilion, and refurbishments of multiple offices around the UK, including Birmingham, Glasgow, and South West London. I’m now proud to have progressed to Associate Director.
At Circle, the opportunities for growth are endless, and I’m thrilled to be part of a culture that empowers people to reach their full potential.”
My interests revolve around participating in and watching sports. I enjoy playing golf when the weather allows. I also took part in the Royal Parks half marathon, raising money for charity alongside several Circle employees. I am a fair-weather cyclist, having recently cycled in Mallorca and completed the London to Brighton ride with Circle colleagues. I love traveling abroad, with my favourite holiday consisting of a road trip around the Canadian Rockies, which included whale watching, kayaking, and hiking around the turquoise lakes of British Columbia.
