Hazel Dsouza

What expertise and background do you bring to the table?

I come from an architecture background, which enables me to naturally see projects through both a design and commercial lens. After obtaining my master’s in Project Management in the Built Environment at Oxford Brookes University, I worked as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Herculeum Limited on high-end residential projects across London. That experience gave me a strong grounding in cost planning, cost control and client coordination, while my design background helps me appreciate the thought and detail that went behind well-delivered spaces.

Can you outline the responsibilities of your role?

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, I support the commercial management of projects from early cost planning through to completion. My role includes assisting with procurement, valuations, cost reporting and contract administration, while working closely with clients, consultants and contractors to help keep projects well managed, commercially robust and aligned with the wider brief.

What excites you about joining Circle, and what are your goals for the future?

I joined Circle Development in April 2026, and what excites me most is being part of a team that combines such strong technical delivery with a real sense of purpose. I’m looking forward to growing here, taking on more ownership over time, and contributing to projects that are thoughtful, well designed and genuinely meaningful to the people who use them.

What is your favourite project?

Westminster School quickly became a favourite. There is something especially rewarding about being involved in a heritage-led masterplan that supports education and community use. I’m drawn to projects like that, where the work is not only technically engaging but also holds lasting public value.

What brings you joy outside of work?

Outside of work, I love gardening and spending time with my collection of orchids and succulents. It is something I find both calming and rewarding. I also really enjoy exploring various food places in London, whether that means trying a new café or finding a tucked-away restaurant.
