Considered evolution within a living school estate

George House sits within the wider Westminster Under School estate and plays an important supporting role, providing a combination of dining, creative and staff residential accommodation. The project focuses on modest internal adjustments that respond to changing teaching needs without altering the building’s established purpose or planning status. The works allow an existing meeting space to be reconfigured as two French language rooms, IT classrooms, and art accommodation, strengthening the school’s creative provision while maintaining continuity for pupils and staff. The project is delivered alongside 12 Architects, Harley Haddow as MEP consultant and Whitby wood as structural and civil engineer, ensuring a coordinated and proportionate response to the brief.

Stewardship that balances change and stability

Our role spans Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent, Clerk of Works and Quality Management services, allowing us to guide the project from a single, integrated perspective. We coordinate programme, quality and cost control while ensuring that the works align with the broader estate vision for Westminster Under School. By taking a measured approach, we help ensure that George House continues to function effectively on a day to day basis during and after the adjustments. The outcome supports creative teaching aspirations, safeguards existing uses and reinforces the school’s ability to adapt its estate in a thoughtful and sustainable way over time.
