We’re pleased to share that Dominus’s 181 Talgarth Road project has reached practical completion and is setting new standards in student accommodation. With 50% of the 715 units designated as affordable, the development delivers on its commitment to both quality and social impact.
Delivering accessible, high-standard student housing
181 Talgarth Road is a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Hammersmith, West London. Developed by Dominus and forward-funded by Scape, ti provides 715 high-quality rooms, half of which are affordable in line with the Mayor of London’s rent cap. The scheme represents a significant step forward in delivering accessible, high-standard student housing.
Our role as Clerk of Works has been both rewarding and vital in ensuring quality at every stage. Working closely with the design team, including contractor HG Construction, RSHP Architects, Whitby Wood Structural and Civil Engineers, and EDC MEP Consultants —we helped bring this mixed-use development to life.
The design, which responds beautifully to its urban context, features a 22-storey building with a stepped form and a pixelated façade. This cutting-edge development meets the highest sustainability standards, achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating and “Air Quality Neutral” status. With an innovative approach to reducing environmental impact, the project stands as a benchmark for how forward-thinking architecture can enhance both the student experience and the wider community.
This is a game-changer for affordable student housing in London, and we look forward to welcoming students as they move in.
