We are pleased to announce our appointment as Quantity Surveyor for John Lewis Partnership’s Bromley Build to Rent development, working alongside Assael Architecture on the transformation of a former brownfield Waitrose site next to Bromley South Station.
The mixed use scheme will deliver 353 Build to Rent homes, affordable housing at London Living Rent levels, a modernised Waitrose store, and enhanced public realm including a new public square designed to better connect the residential and retail elements of the development.
Appointed at pre-planning stage, we are providing early-stage cost advice, budgeting, procurement support, and value management to help ensure the project remains commercially robust while maintaining quality, sustainability, and long-term value. Our role also includes supporting the delivery of the upgraded Waitrose store and shared residential amenities, including co-working spaces, fitness facilities, rooftop terraces, podium gardens, and communal social spaces designed to support modern living and resident wellbeing.
Sustainability is central to the development strategy, with the scheme following the GLA’s Be Lean, Be Clean, Be Green energy hierarchy through fossil fuel free systems, photovoltaics, air source heat pumps, and the retention of much of the existing structure to reduce embodied carbon.
Through our Quantity Surveying role, we continue to support the integration of sustainable, cost-effective solutions that deliver long-term operational value and high-quality outcomes for residents and the wider community.
