We have been appointed as Clerk of Works for the University of East London’s New Academic Building at the Stratford Health Campus, supporting the delivery of a landmark education project.

Delivered by GRAHAM as part of the wider Stratford Health Campus redevelopment, the project represents a major milestone in the University’s long-term vision, supporting its Vision 2028 strategy to expand healthcare education, research and opportunity across east London.

The New Academic Building sits at the heart of the Stratford Health Campus redevelopment and will provide state-of-the-art teaching, learning and research spaces for medical and healthcare education. Subject to General Medical Council approval, the facility is intended to support new medical education courses and expand access to healthcare training.

Construction commenced in early 2026, with completion expected in summer 2027, ready for the start of the academic year. The building is targeting BREEAM Outstanding certification, with a strong focus on low-carbon construction, energy efficiency and sustainable design principles.

As Clerk of Works, we are responsible for independently monitoring construction quality on site, ensuring workmanship, materials and installation meet the required standards, specifications and design intent.

Working closely with the University of East London, GRAHAM and the wider project team, including Currie & Brown as Employer’s Agent and CDM Principal Designer, Stride Treglown as Architects, ESD as MEPH Engineers, Rider Levett Bucknall as Quantity Surveyors, DP9 Ltd as Planning Consultant, Semper as Fire Engineer, Curtins Consultancy as Highways Consultant, and All Building Control (ABC), our role supports quality assurance throughout the construction process, helping to protect the long-term performance, durability and safety of this important education facility.

This appointment further strengthens our presence within the education sector, where we support universities and learning providers in delivering high-quality, future-focused environments that enhance teaching, research and student experience.
