We’re excited to announce that the contract has been signed and McAleer & Rushe are officially set to start on site on HUB’s Shore Station, 604 bed PSBA project in Leith, Edinburgh.
As Carbon Managers, Employer’s Agent, Clerk of Works, and Quantity Surveyors, we’ve been actively involved in every step of this ambitious development, from managing cost planning, tendering, enabling works, and procurement through to this next exciting post contract phase where our Clerk of Works team also commence.
A talented team delivering an ambitious development
In transforming the former gasworks and naval yard into the largest single-site student-living scheme in the Scottish capital our work includes overseeing the conservation of Grade A Listed and Category B-Listed industrial buildings, ensuring the retention of their historic stone facades while seamlessly integrating modern new-build elements. We’ve also managed the procurement of surveys, risk allowances, and tendering processes, helping to guide the project smoothly through RIBA Stage 3.
We’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with MLA Architects, whose innovative design is at the heart of this development, alongside Civic Engineers, whose structural and civil engineering expertise has been vital in preserving the building’s integrity. Additionally, Atelier 10 has provided exceptional guidance on MEP and sustainability guidance has helped create a low-carbon, high-performance building.
This project will bring much-needed student accommodation to Leith, contributing to the area’s revitalisation. Together, we look forward to seeing the vision come to life as we move forward in creating sustainable, vibrant spaces for the community.
