We are pleased to share that planning permission has been granted for Reading’s first co-living scheme.

Led by Elder, with architectural design by Darling Associates Architects, Greyfriars House will repurpose a vacant office block into 266 co-living units.

Unlocking the potential of an underutilised commercial space

The 13 storey Greyfriars House, located in a high-demand area near Reading’s train station, will feature a mix of market-rate and affordable co-living spaces. This development aims to create a modern, sustainable environment for residents.

The vision for Greyfriars House is to build a sense of community, seamlessly integrate with the surrounding area, and offer flexible, high-quality urban living. It will contribute to the regeneration of Reading’s town centre and help create an active, engaged neighbourhood for young professionals.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration as we move into the next phase of design.
